THOMAS introduces some nice new features

THOMAS, the legislative information resource created by the Library of Congress has introduced some new features to better integrate with the GPO and social networking media. The site now includes a "Current Activity" window with links to the day's activities in the House and Senate, bills on their way to the President, and the daily edition of the Congressional Record. THOMAS is also integrating with social networks, such as Facebook and Twitter, so that you can share legislative documents easily. Another very nice new feature is that the five most searched for bills for the week are listed for easy access.

New search tool for FOIA-acquired documents by the EFF

The Electronic Frontier Foundation, a Bay Area group which advocates for information access, fair use, and intellectual freedom has today announced a search engine for FOIA-acquired documents they have collected. The documents are hosted by EFF and are the result of their Freedom of Information Act Project. This was announced today, so there may be some initial glitches. Regardless, it is a welcome addition to the world of government documents.
