Law Study Abroad - Exchange Program

A limited number of students who qualify may apply to take a summer or semester of their law studies abroad. This study abroad may be taken at one of the universities with whom Santa Clara University School of Law has a reciprocal agreement.

 

Santa Clara University School of Law currently has agreements in place for its law students to spend a semester studying law at universities in Europe and Asia. Qualifying students can take up to 8 units in a summer or, 12 units in a semester abroad.  Most programs are offered in English, thus foreign language fluency is not a requirement, but is considered an advantage.

 

Students who intend to study abroad through our exchange program must first complete the Notice of Intent to Study Abroad as an Exchange Student form and submit to the Center for Global Law and Policy by February 1st for Summer Exchange or Fall Exchange of that year, and July 1st for Spring Exchange of the next year.  Once that form is complete, students will be given the application form.

Students must receive approval from an advisor at CGLP and turn the above forms in to the Law Student Services Office with the Add/Drop form.
