Overview

Law Technology and Academic Computing (LTAC)'s mission is to identify and provide technology that supports the school's mission to educating leaders in the field of law that embody the spirit of competence, conscience, and compassion.

This includes providing faculty with the right tools to make the most out of their time in and out of the classroom, staff with systems to efficiently aid students, and to continually seek new, innovative technologies that represent the future of legal education and practice.

We provide an online ticket system for requesting support easily and conveniently. We also have two office locations for students, faculty, and staff. Our blog The Rise of the Machines provides commentary and insight on current and emerging technologies.

Students

Did you know you have an entire technology support department dedicated just to you?  We are here to help you!

Looking for a new laptop? See what LTAC recommends. Going to orientation? Get the Insight Assessment Tool. Having technical issues? Submit a ticket online, visit us, or call the Student Help Desk at (408) 554-5762. We've also published a comprehensive guide to accessing wireless, email, and other technology on our campus.

Exams

This is a topic all to itself.  LTAC provides technical support for exams, from working with other departments to make the overall process smoother to being by your side, helping get your exams uploaded and to your professors.  Learn about exams in general, find out about some special issues with Windows Vista and 7, and keep up to date on the Official Announcements blog section.

Faculty and Staff

Our online ticket system is a quick way to get support. LTAC staff will work directly with you in your office or workspace.  Our remote support system is a great way to get help without having to wait for us to get to your office. In addition, we also provide individual or group software training classes for faculty and staff. Just call our helpdesk, 408-554-5508, and we'll have our law technology training specialist set up a customized training session for you.

The University and the School both "refresh" or replace computers on a standard cycle through a program called PC Replacement (PCR). Learn about what to expect, how to prepare, and more at the LTAC PC Replacement Program Information Center.
